Gerald (Jerry) D. Platt, 80, of Lincoln passed away January 2, 2016. He was surrounded by loving family in the hospital at the time of his passing. Born May 2, 1935 to Norman and Mabel Platt. Jerry is a formerly of the Air Force and Marines, worked 30 years in the grocery business and 20 years as a car salesman. Survived by wife Patty, Roca, NE; Son Douglas (Diane), Lincoln, NE; Daughter Julie Daniel, Wake, VA; Brother Gene (Cherrie) Platt, Sebring, FL.; Sister-in-laws Elise Platt, Bradenton, Fl., Sharon Behrends, Alton, ME.; Granddaughters Samantha Platt, Lincoln, NE., Jenni Havens Milford, NE.; Grandson Wayne Allsman JR, Lincoln, NE; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. Meet and greet will be held at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from 9 to 11 am. A gathering will be after the service starting at 12:00 pm at 5801 Bennett Road, Lincoln, NE. Memorials or donations to Lincoln Memorial in lieu of flowers c/o Patty and Douglas Platt.
