Jim is preceded in death by 2 brothers, and 1 sister; son-in-law Scott Znamenacek.
Jim Oliver served in the United States Air Force from 1962 - 1985, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. He was stationed Dow Air Force Base in Bangor, Maine where he met the love of his life, Ginny. Besides being stationed in Maine, he also served in Goose Bay, Labrador, Florida, Alaska, and Nebraska.
In 1985, Jim moved his family to Crete, Nebraska to be a maintenance manager at the Alpo (now Friskies) Pet Foods plant where he worked until 2002. After retiring from Alpo, he then went on to work for Cornhusker Service Industry in Lincoln. After retiring from CSI, he then went on to do what he called his "hobby job" which was for Americom Communications. He liked to stay busy and it has been said that "he failed at retirement”.
He LOVED his granddaughters and supported and cheered them on at their activities from sports to dance competitions. Jim loved anything "Nebraska Cornhusker”, whether football, baseball or men's basketball, which he was a season ticket holder for numerous years.
When he wasn't at one of his granddaughter's activities, he loved to read or watch movies. Over the last few years, he loved traveling down to Zephyrhills, Florida with Ginny during the winter months to avoid the Nebraska winters. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
