James Charles Ptacek, 79, of Lincoln was born on July 23, 1937 in Prague, Nebraska to Louis and Alice (Stanek) Ptacek. He lived in Saunders County until 1970 when he moved to Lincoln. He farmed and worked at Ace Hardware until his retirement.
He served as a tank commander in the U.S. Army with the 6th Inf. Reg. 1st Armored Division in Ft. Hood, Texas.
He enjoyed sports, Nebraska football, dancing and listening to polka music.
He is survived by his wife Edna of Lincoln.
