Janice Sue Burkey

December 24, 1954 – August 5, 2021

Janice Sue Burkey, 66, of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away August 5, 2021. She was born December 24, 1954 to Albert and Hilda (Blum) Feigion in York. The family would later move to Seward where she was a graduate of Seward High School.

Janice is survived by her husband, Brad Burkey of Lincoln; daughters Jennifer (Karl) Eickhoff of Milford, Angela (Joshua) Jorgensen of Minden, and Michele (Kyle) Korth of Wausa; grandchildren Owen and Nolan Eickhoff, Duke and Dallas Jorgensen, and Hallie and Trigg Korth; sister Bonnie (Richard) Burhoop of Goehner; nieces Kelly (Jeff) Placke of Seward and Kerry (Brandon) Meseck of Denison, IA; parents-in-law Marlin and Margie Burkey of Seward; brother-in-law Van Burkey of Seward. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Celebration of Janice’s life will be held Sunday, August 15 at 2:00 PM at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1800 S. 84th St. in Lincoln. Masks will be required, and the service will be streamed live at livestream.com/messiah. Private family burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for several charitable donations to be made in Janice’s memory.
