Judy was born on November 3,1934 (Edit Naujokaitis) to parents Izidorius Naujokaitis and Berta Modrecker, in Lithuania. Shortly after Judy was born WWII began. Tragically, her father was executed by the Nazis as a political dissident. She and her family were forced to leave their homeland. They fled to Germany where she and her siblings were placed in “work camps.” Her mother fell ill and died, leaving Judy and her siblings orphans. At just 14 years old Judy, her sister Frieda, and brother Albert came to America through Lutheran Social Services. Judy found the English language difficult to understand, but with much determination, she graduated from Omaha Tech High in 1953. She enlisted into the US Army which led her to Texas, where she pursued Medical Training. She is a Korean War Veteran. While in Texas, Judy met a young service man, Norman R. Foster. She liked to tell us how they met and married just three months later. Through their marriage, they had four children; Linda, Roger, Nora and Brian. Judy was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a founding member of Holy Savior Lutheran Church. Judy loved others and the Lord with purpose. Her faith in our Lord Jesus carried her through every step of her life. Judy was a strong, resilient woman who knew who she was. In fact she carried a piece of paper with her when anyone asked who she was, she would pull it out and read it:
I am very Outspoken
I am very Opinionated
I am very Judgmental
But I am painfully, painfully Honest.
