June Ellen Wagner

June E. Wagner, nee Unger, age 96, of Lakewood, CO, passed peacefully surrounded by family on October 18, 2024. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Harold W. Wagner. June is survived by her two children: Jan Wagner, and Richard (Anne). She was the proud grandmother of 3 and loving great-grandmother to 4.

Born June 15, 1928 in Plymouth, NE, June was raised and lived in Lincoln, NE through the Great Depression. She not only survived but thrived, building a life full of love, joy, family and friends. June found deep fulfillment in the company of her family.

One of the many cherished traditions June fostered was hosting Holiday celebrations, a time that brought the entire Wagner family together for decades. She created memories (and delicious foods) that will be cherished by generations, with her warmth, smile and hospitality at the heart of every gathering.

Known for her appreciation of all family, June lived with grace, charisma, care and love. She was an encourager to all who knew her, offering wisdom and support in every interaction, whether it was with the students at Millard Lefler Jr. High where she worked in the cafeteria serving students, or at her job with First National Bank where she greeted and assisted Bank customers in the trust Department. June was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker Football fan.

June’s presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A celebration of Life will be set for a future date to be determined.
