Larry Eugene Lewis was born September 10, 1943 in Lincoln, NE to Gerald and Mildred (Huff) Lewis. He died on June 12, 2019 in the comfort of his home with his loving wife Linda and dog Morgan at his side. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Linda (Lubben) Lewis; his daughter, Lauri Zink (Mark); son, Larry Jr.; daughter, Lisa Lewis; grandchildren, Jamie Benson (Bentley), Dani Jennings (Adam), Sami Beman (Shad), Erin Cantrell (James), Jenny McCullough (Tim) and Garrett Zink (Danica), Ryan Lewis; great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Braelon, Blake, Lily, Isaiah, Jack, Charlee and sister, Jerry Kay Fraas. Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Lewis; father, Gerald Lewis and great-granddaughter, Ally McCullough. Larry attended grade school in Emerald and high school at Malcolm. He went to work with his dad at Lewis Service Center and later went on to Milford Tech School and studied diesel mechanics. In 1962, he married Linda Lubben and they had three children, Lauri, Larry Jr. and Lisa. Larry and Linda started Nebraska Truck & Equipment, a Mack truck dealership, in 1985. Larry was a successful business man of 30 years before retiring. He loved selling trucks, his customers and his employees. Larry had a passion for his church, his family, hunting and fishing, cutting horses, the Shrine, and Corvettes. He served on many boards including Children’s Museum, Emerald Cemetery, Sheridan Lutheran Foundation and was very involved with Friendship Home. Memorials suggested to the Shrine Transportation Fund.
VISITATION Friday, June 14, 2019 from 6-8pm at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th Street. FUNERAL SERVICE Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 10:00am at Sheridan Lutheran Church, 6955 Old Cheney Rd. Interment Emerald Cemetery.
