

Remaining to carry on Leonard's legacy are his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia (Murkle) Reid, two sons Leonard Jr. and Lawrence (Kim), that he had with Dorothy (Skoda). He raised four step-children Darla, Ronald (Susan), Randy (Paula) and Christi (Brett). Also surviving include fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Leonard was born September 6, 1933 on a small farm near Valparaiso, Nebraska. He attended country school and graduated from the 8th grade. Leonard went into the Armed Services Army Infantry Division at Camp Polk, LA. After his stent in the service he went to work for Lincoln Steel where he retired with 42 years. He couldn't sit down so to keep himself busy, he started a small lawn mowing business. He enjoyed time with his family listening and going to Polka dances. Leonard loved woodworking, bowling, gardening and of course, Westerns on T.V. He enjoyed playing cards with many friends and family. He was a member of the Moose Lodge where he served on the board. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Eagles Club.
He was preceded in death by his infant brother Edward and infant sister Alice. Parents Anton and Martha (Chmelka), brother Alvin.
