

Lois May (Fuhlbrigge) Goeres passed into the arms of Jesus on June 11, 2022. She was born in Enterprise, WI, July 22, 1926, the first daughter of the Reverend William G Fuhlbrigge and Hilda A.R. (Rieck) Fuhlbrigge. She was baptized and confirmed into the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Church by her father.
She attended Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN and graduated with a degree in teaching. Her first teaching job was in Kenosha WI., teaching kindergarten through sixth grade students. There she met her future husband, Arthur D. Goeres. Arthur’s niece, Nola Goeres was in her kindergarten class. Nola was a flower girl at their wedding and her parents William and Dorothy Goeres were witnesses.
Lois and Art were married by her father, Rev. Fuhlbrigge at Trinity Lutheran Church in Coleman, WI on June 26, 1948.
Lois and Art then moved to Chicago to live near Art’s parents and siblings. Lois worked as a bookkeeper for a number of companies in Chicago, Bloomington, IL and Kansas City Missouri. She and Art retired in January 1989 and built a home in Leesburg, FL. Many wonderful vacations will be remembered by her children and grandchildren when visiting with them.
In November 2002 Lois and Art relocated to Lincoln NE to be closer to the daughter and in anticipation of the birth of their first great grandson.
Lois will be remembered for her wonderful laugh and beautiful smile by her daughters, Christa G Engel, Gwen G and (Richard) Norman, daughter in law Susan Goeres Papke, grandchildren Meghan E (David) Paprocki, Andrew G (Jessica) Engel, James G (Ashley) Norman, Catherine C (Cody) Beasley, Alexander A Goeres, Luke E Goeres, Elisabeth M Goeres, John Phillip Goeres. Great grandchildren Noah M. Hepburn, Graeme C Hepburn, Silas T Hepburn, Owen G Engel, Claire Norman, Charlotte Norman, Caroline Norman, Arthur Beasley, Elizabeth Beasley and Lilah May Tew. Step grandsons Scott A Engel and Christopher M Engel.
Preceded in death by her husband, Arthur D Goeres, son John F Goeres, brothers; Armin R Fuhlbrigge, MD and Reverend Karl A Fuhlbrigge.
Private interment for family with be at a later date.
