Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 10:00 am at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, NE with a visitation one hour prior to service.
Lyle was born in Lincoln, NE to Irma and Glenn Johnson on April 24, 1938. He graduated High School from Lincoln Northeast. He married his life time partner Alice, June 26, 1965.
He worked and loved every day with US Postal Service retiring in 1997.
He was a veteran, served in the Navy as First Class Air Traffic Controller and Plank owner of The USS Enterprise 1956 to 1965. American Legion member, lifetime VFW member, and a member of DAV.
Lyle loved years of hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. He also loved his dog Callie.
Lyle is preceded in death by his parents, Irma and Glenn; brother, Glenn Johnson; children, Phyllis Ann and Frankie.
Survived by spouse Alice Johnson of 53 years; brother Gary Johnson, nieces and nephew, grandchildren; Sherry Harper, Angel Butts, April Murphey, and Carl Stanley; Eight great grandchildren: Haley, Justin, Brady, Joshua, Zane Jayden, Lilly Ann and Kamdyn .
