

Maralee (Mitzner) Cloran born to Virgil & Evelyn Mitzner in Nebraska City November 25, 1951. She went home on Sunday, July 29, 2018 in Lincoln, NE. She was the youngest of three siblings; oldest Roger (spouse Carol) and second Gary (spouse Connie) Mitzner. She was the most loving, supportive and generous mother of Edward (Eddy) Cloran and Katharine (Katie) Cloran. She attended Lincoln Pius X, Lincoln Wesleyan, Bryan School of Nursing and was a constant student throughout her life. She started her career as a candy striper at St. Elizabeth followed by a long career as a floor nurse in many capacities. She worked at VA Hospital in Lincoln and was one of the key individual to create the nursing program at Southeast Community College which continues to this day. She was head evening supervisor at Lincoln Regional Center where she took full advantage of her psych nursing background. She followed her career to head the Alzheimer's Clinic at Lincoln General/Bryan West Hospital. She was the only state evaluator for nursing home placement for many years and then freelanced until the end of her working career. When she reached the age of 50 she decided to leave hospital life behind and started a 15+ year career as a school nurse for Lincoln Public Schools. She was primary summer school nurse for many years and spent her whole LPS career at Pershing Elementary and Mickle Middle Schools where she witnessed a whole generation of children grow up. During her long nursing career she keynote speaker on several topics over many states in regards to nursing, self-care, personality types and humor. She retired in 2016 and immediately started taking more classes in everything from Tia Cha to Self Publishing and embarked on her long awaited dream of a Life Coaching career. She was a Mary Kay constant for 20+ years, Discovery Toy distributor, published author, artist, avid reader, business owner, wonderful friend, sister, devoted daughter, mother and grandmother.
She was known as "sparkles" and "sunshine" to many. Known for her faith, generosity, kindness, constant support, humor, love and greatest hugs in the world. She did so much and meant so much in this world that there is no way a few paragraphs could do her life justice. She will be missed by her children most and her loss will be felt by those she touched in the smallest of ways. Her legacy will be a ripple of kindness and laughter.
