Margaret E. Trew

Margaret Elizabeth (Corn) Trew, age 83, of Columbus, Nebraska, entered her heavenly home on June 13, 2025 in Omaha, Nebraska. Margaret was born on October 30,1941, in Columbus, to Forrest and Marjorie (Hatten) Corn. She graduated from Columbus High School with the class of 1959, and also graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She taught for 37 years in Grand Island and Columbus, most of those years being in the areas of Title 1 Remedial Reading and English as a Second Language. She was a member of the Federated Church, local, state and national education associations, Chapter FV, P.E.O., Zeta Tau Alpha social sorority and Alpha Lambda Delta scholastic honorary. On December 26, 1967 she married Floyd Gilbert Trew. Margaret will be remembered as dedicated mother, grandmother, teacher and avid Husker fan.

She is survived by daughter, Robyn Trew Colgan, grandsons Cade and Zane Colgan, Bill and Mary Corn, Adam and Kelli Corn, Will and Gracyn, Sarah Corn and Tim Summers, Bob and Shirley Corn, Rob and Maureen Corn, Charlie, Mary Rose and Connor, Jay and Carolyn Faylor, Jack and Grace, and Dan Corn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Marjorie Corn.

Memorials may be directed to the Federated Church in Columbus or to donor's choice.

A small Graveside gathering for Margaret will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 10:00 am, Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery 6700 South 14th Street Lincoln, Nebraska.
