Marian was born and raised on a farm near Filley, Nebraska. Her foundation in that community helped her throughout her life. She reflected the values learned from the beginning, which were faith, family and fortitude, all through her days. She became not only the first woman, but also the first person in her family to attend college at Wartburg College in 1954. Finishing her studies in education, she became an elementary school teacher for the Lincoln Public Schools. In 1959 she married Dwayne Keller, a union lasting until his death in 2011. Dwayne and Marian had two children, Brenda and Alan whom she raised to become responsible and successful in their respective fields of Medicine and Agriculture.
She enjoyed children both as a teacher and babysitter at St Mark’s Church. Marian was happiest with family, her involvement with Sheridan Lutheran Church, and tending to her garden. Marian’s life can best be reflected in the love for her husband, children, grandchildren and many family members and friends.
