Mary Lou Busch was blessed with a long, healthy life! She was born on August 24, 1927 in Floris, Iowa to Edward and Mildred Wilkinson. She was the oldest of seven children. Mary passed peacefully on October 8, 2025 at Gracepointe Memory Care in Lincoln, NE.
Mary married Marvin Busch on October 10, 1945. They were married for over 54 years until Marvin’s passing in 1999. Our beloved aunt & uncle never had children of their own, but were blessed with many nieces & nephews.
A very strong work ethic was instilled in Mary. She had various places of employment that included; Elgin Watch, Russell Stover, Miller & Paine cafeteria, Bethany Pantry, and Gateway Manor. Mary worked well into her 80’s.
Mary was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Lincoln, NE. She enjoyed attending an adult Sunday School class and being a part of the sewing circle. Mary also enjoyed crocheting. She crotched many afghans and newborn caps; donating them to infants at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Mary graduated from Adult High School on May 31, 1957.
Survivors include her sisters Donna Olsen, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Dorothea (William) Werkmeister, Desota, Texas, along with many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Gary Wilkinson and Marvin Wilkinson, sisters Beverly Joan Sarringar, and Martha Kaye Kemp, and sister in law Esther Messman.
