Born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, Nancy graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School and the Lincoln School of Commerce. She was a member of the Chapter DN PEO and Lincoln Law Wives. Nancy and James (Jim) Snowden were married on August 9, 1969, and celebrated their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary this past August.
Nancy and Jim were inseparable from the moment they met. Whether it was taking one of their numerous overseas travels, accompanying Jim on work trips, going out for dinner and a movie, or taking Jim's Corvette to Zesto's for ice cream; the pair always enjoyed spending time together. Theirs was a once in a lifetime love which remains an example to their children and grandchildren.
Nancy's proudest role was that of mother and grandmother. Family was everything to her and she especially doted on her six grandchildren. She took care of her family and those she loved with great passion. Nancy always thought of others before herself and made you feel loved like no other. She was her daughters' best friend and the first one to wipe away their tears, forgive their mistakes, and encourage them to never give up on their dreams. Nancy loved deeply and was tremendously loved in return.
Nancy enjoyed shopping and lunches with her daughters; gardening and reading; as well as time spent with her brother and sister-in-law, close cousins, and niece. With them she enjoyed "winers" trips to local wineries, tracing family history through Nebraska City, and numerous road-trip adventures, all of which were full of laughs and memories.
Nancy is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Jim; her adoring daughters, Kristine Snowden, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; Kathryn McReynolds (Clint), Lincoln; Kerrie Snowden Franzluebbers (Ryan), Lincoln; her beloved grandchildren, Kayla, Kevin, Preston, Drew, Reis, and Georgia; her brother, George Bess, Jr. (Nancy), Crete; sister, Lois Rademacher, Omaha; her niece, Kathy Ayars, Lincoln; as well as numerous close cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Georgia Mae Bess; and sister, Georgia Ann Borcher.
