

Norman D. Freeman, 62, of Lincoln, Nebraska, formerly of Friend, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at home on February 23, 2018. He was born August 6, 1955 to Norman and Gayle Freeman. He attended Friend Public Schools where he played football and was a state champion wrestler. After high school he married his high school sweetheart, Kathy Stewart, for 42 years. To this union, two daughters, Molly and Justine were born. Norm was a salesman for most of his life, selling tires and as a sales representative for Brothers Equipment in Friend. Norm enjoyed hunting and fishing, bust most of all spending time with his family, especially watching his grandkids grow. Norm left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Norm is survived by his wife, Kathy, daughter and son-in-law, Molly and Derrick Vanatta, daughter and son- in-law, Justine and Doug Metzger, grandchildren, Thea and Tucker Metzger and Stella and Dawson Vanatta, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Everett and Beverly Stewart, sister-and brother-in-law, Gay and Mike Gill, sister-in-law and brother-in law, Cheryl and Brandon Morton, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Norm is preceded in death by his parents, Norm and Gayle Freeman, grandparents, Elton and Iva Dean, Cleo and Josephine Freeman, brother in law, Doug Stewart, and nephew, Aaron Gill.
Funeral will be held at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home on March 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Family requests casual attire.
Celebration of life following the funeral at The Garage Sports Bar on 5551 S. 48th St.
