January 19, 1955 – August 28, 2025
Pamela L. Kohn, 70, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on August 28th, 2025. She was born on January 19th, 1955, to Lloyd and Elizabeth Damewood in Lincoln, Pam grew up with a strong sense of family, community, and a deep love for life.
A 1973 graduate of Norris High School, Pam pursued her passion for caring for others, graduating in 1976 from Bishop Clarkson Nursing School. There, she formed lifelong friendships with a group that called themselves the “The 76’ers.” The group would become an integral part of her life.
On April 14th, 1978, Pam married the love of her life, Thomas Kohn. Their union was built on a foundation of love, laughter, and mutual respect. Together, they raised a family and shared countless memories of joy and adventure. Pam’s heart was full of pride for her children and grandchildren, and she was always an active and passionate supporter of their athletic and artistic endeavors. She would often be seen pacing the sidelines with nerves or pounding on the wrestling mat with encouragement.
Pam’s career was marked by her dedication to the healthcare profession. She worked at Lancaster Manor, where she was set up on a date by her future mother-in-law, marking the beginning of a long and fulfilling journey with Tom. She later served as an operating room nurse at the VA Hospital before transitioning to Lincoln Surgical Hospital, where she worked in several capacities, from surgery nurse to infectious disease coordinator and finally, in the GI lab. Her career spanned many years, and she was beloved by colleagues and patients alike.
Outside of her professional life, Pam was a woman of great joy and adventure. She spent many summers camping and boating at Lake McConaughy, later at Table Rock Lake, where she made cherished memories with her family. Pam’s love for travel took her across the globe, embarking on dozens of cruises and trips with friends and family, leaving few islands untouched.
Pam was also a committed member of Hickman Presbyterian Church, serving as a deacon and confirmation sponsor, always seeking to nurture her faith and the faith of others.
Her warmth, laughter, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Pam was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Tom Kohn; her parents, Lloyd and Elizabeth Damewood; and her brother, Daniel Damewood.
She is survived by her children: son Ryan (Missi) Kohn, daughter Melissa (Casey) Moormeier, and her beloved grandchildren: Ansley Kohn, Raegan Moormeier, and Sawyer Kohn, along with sister-in-law LuAnn Damewood, all of whom will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
