On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, the Lord called home to rest our beloved family member and friend, Pamela Joann Oliver in Lincoln, NE.
Pam was the firstborn to Leonard Ballard, Jr. and Carrie Ballard (Moore) in Lincoln, Nebraska on January 10, 1958. They preceded her in death in 2007 and 2002 respectively. This union brought forth seven children. She attended Clinton Elementary, Whittier Junior High and Lincoln High schools here in the Capital city. She graduated in 1976 and then attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln (UNL) for approximately 2 years. In 1979, she married Robert Robinson. This union produced two wonderful boys. She raised her boys with so much love and provided them with excellent guidance throughout their successful lives.
She is survived by sons: Lenard Robinson (Quadra) of Bonner Springs, KS and Tierre Robinson (Amanda) of Lincoln, NE; siblings: Denise Alkali (Ahmed), Rodney Ballard, Angel Ballard, Cyndi Jones, Kevin Ballard, Anthony Ballard (Lisa) all of Lincoln, NE and Joseph Ballard of Omaha, NE. She was a loving grandmother to LaNayia Robinson and Vivian Moore and great-granddaughter, A’Nayia Johnson all of Kansas City, KS.
Her career spanned many decades where she worked in a multitude of industries to include accounting, human resources, paraprofessional in schools, student loans, repossessions, customer service and administrative. She proudly began enjoying retirement starting in 2018 until her untimely death this year. She often joked that “if she had known retirement was this good, she would have done that first!” Pam was an avid reader of black experience novels that she often swapped with her mom and her sister. Her love of music was infectious and she could quite often be found sitting on her porch enjoying R&B. She was the “hostess with the mostest” and regularly invited family and friends to her home to enjoy her delicious cooking. She was competitive and loved playing spades while being the life of the party. She was the best at “two-stepping” and looked so cute doing it with her petite stature! That woman could dance!
She has always loved the Lord and accepted Him as her Savior at a very young age. Pam’s loving personality, engaging smile and sassiness drew others close to her. She possessed a nurturing spirit which she earned as the oldest of seven children. She truly was a “boss.” Her sense of style was unsurpassed and she always carried herself so eloquently which attracted the admiration of many.
She leaves behind a magnitude of people to cherish her memory; 2 sons, 3 sisters, 3 brothers, aunts, cousins, nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, grandchildren plus 1 great-grandchild and a host of life-long friends. She will be forever missed by all!
