

Paul Eugene Kasl, aged 93, of Lincoln, NE, peacefully passed away on December 30, 2023. He was born on April 20, 1930, in Omaha, NE. to Lois Stevens and Glen Kasl. Paul was a man of great humility, selflessness, and unwavering dedication to his beloved family. Throughout his life, he tirelessly worked side surveying jobs to provide for his loved ones, allowing his wife, Annette, to create a nurturing and loving home environment. Paul is survived by his sons, Brent P (Kay) and Scott E (Lisa) of Lincoln, and his grandchildren Timothy B of Omaha, Holly R (Socha) of Hickman, Jared (Lana) of Portland, OR, Eric (Ann), Trevor both in Lincoln, and Brandon (Erin) of Seattle, WA. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Annette, whom he cared for over a 15 year period of dementia. Educated at Lincoln Northeast High School class of 1948, Paul pursued higher education at the University of Nebraska and Nebraska Wesleyan University. He proudly served his country as a Korean War Veteran and was honorably discharged in 1954 Paul's professional career was defined by his role as a Nebraska State Licensed land surveyor, where he contributed his expertise to the City of Lincoln Public Works as the City Surveyor. His dedication and skill were widely recognized, making him an invaluable asset to the community. A lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, Paul found solace and strength in his unwavering Christian faith. He faithfully served as an Elder, Deacon, and Trustee, embodying the values of his religious convictions. Beyond his professional endeavors, Paul found joy and fulfillment in various hobbies, including word games and completing challenging jigsaw puzzles. He particularly enjoyed sports, with golf holding a special place in his heart, attending the 1991 US Open and remarkably scoring a hole-in-one at the age of 86. Paul also took great pleasure in supporting Husker football, baseball, and basketball. Additionally, he generously shared his time and wisdom by coaching various levels of baseball, including Legion ball and Little Chiefs baseball. Details of Paul's memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the Community Blood Bank and the Capital Humane Society. These organizations were both close to Paul's heart.
