Born and raised in Lucknow, India, Pramila Srivastava gained her degrees in political science and education while also completing extensive training in Hindustani classical vocal music and Kathak dance.
As a young woman in Roorkee, she taught English at the university. Her talent in music and dance made her a coach and judge for the many entertainment programs on campus. After her marriage to her sweetheart, Lakshman Saran Srivastava, much of her adult life was spent in Roorkee. She nurtured many relationships within the family and with countless friends who found themselves becoming family. To this date, the stories of her love and caring spirit are unending. Running a truly multi-generational household in Roorkee, she played mom to many. As much love as she gave, she received back manyfold. This is her legacy and lesson for the family.
