born January 10, 1950, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Rebecca graduated from Lincoln East High School
in 1968. During her younger years Becky developed her love for animals. She was an active
member in 4-H and that is where she met her husband of 50 years. Becky also enjoyed playing
musical instruments. After high school Becky attended the Lincoln College of Business for two
years. She was employed at ISCO until her and Jim bought their dairy farm in 1976.
On August 8, 1970, Rebecca was united in marriage to James Lee Meyer in Roca,
Nebraska. Becky and Jim had two sons Jeff and Jason.
Rebecca helped run the dairy farm throughout her life. Rebecca loved agriculture and
animals, and served as her son's 4H leader through their 4h years. Rebecca and James showed
cattle in the Nebraska State Fair for many years. They had very fond memories and won many
awards while showing cattle. Rebecca enjoyed showing her grandkids; Garrett and Ashlynn
Meyer, around the farm and instilling her love for animals in them. She loved attending any
event they were involved in. Rebecca passed away peacefully at her home with her family by
her side on Friday, January 15, 2021.
She is survived by husband, James Meyer; sons, Jeff (Rachel) Meyer and Jason Meyer; grandchildren, Garrett and Ashlynn Meyer; sister, Debbie (Larry) Kauffman; brother, Scott (Gail) West; brother and sister in-law, Duane Gudgel and Darlene Meyer; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rebecca is preceded in death by her parents, Cloyd and Mary Jane West.
A visitation with family and friends will be held from 5-7pm Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home 6800 S. 14th Street, Lincoln. A graveside service will be held 10am Friday, January 22, 2021 at Lincoln Memorial Park 6700 S. 14th Street, Lincoln, please meet at Gate 2.
