Rebekah Rose Guilford was called to her eternal home and carried to heaven in Jesus’ arms on June 29, 2025. She was 25 years old. Rebekah (Bekah) was born to Tom and Holly Guilford in Lincoln, NE on December 20, 1999. She was washed in the waters of Holy Baptism at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Lincoln, NE on January 30, 2000. Her godparents are Peter and Bethany Landrey, John Guilford, and Russ and Susan Leeper. She confirmed her faith on April 27, 2014. Her confirmation verse is Hebrews 10:23: “Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful.” God is forever faithful and Bekah trusted in her Savior and in God’s promises. Bekah loved learning. She read and drew constantly from a very young age. She loved singing and dancing and picking flowers. From the time of her birth, Bekah “attended” many trumpet lessons, choir and band rehearsals with her Mom. She met her best friend, Abigail DeLoach, before she even began to walk. When she was 4, she and her family moved to Mayville, WI where she made more special friends. At 10, she began playing the trumpet and continued instrumental instruction with many wonderful teachers after moving back to Lincoln, NE at Faith Lutheran School, Lefler Middle School, and East High School. She loved band and music. She was inspired by so many teachers, mentors, musicians, and friends and received many honors and awards for her performance, leadership, and musicianship. For many years, she played in Redeemer’s brass ensemble. After high school graduation in 2018, Bekah attended Concordia University in Seward, NE. During her time at Concordia she participated in any and everything MUSIC. She performed many recitals, concerts, church services, weddings, and other events. Working many hours, she maintained the music library, revived and organized the brass ensemble, and helped lead during challenging times. She also enjoyed art, writing, reading, theater, creating her own music, learning, and laughing with her friends and professors. Upon graduating in 2023, God’s plan was for her to serve at Umoⁿhoⁿ Nation Public School on the Omaha reservation in Macy, NE. With kind and generous support from teachers, administrators, and families, she worked wonders to revive a struggling music program and was already planning for her third year teaching there this fall. Playing in the All-America Concert Band in Sioux City was a pure joy for her and she loved meeting new people. She looked forward to living and working closer to the love of her life, Jackson Munter. In June she moved to her new apartment in Sioux City, IA with her two kitties, Lyric and Snug. Bekah absolutely loved her family and was so proud of each of her siblings. She cherished the special memories made with her family. Rebekah was preceded in death by her Grampa Thomas S. Guilford (2019) and her Papa Larry Noack (2020). She is survived by her grandmothers: Sylvia Guilford and Bonnie Noack; her parents: Thomas and Holly Guilford; her siblings: Matthew Guilford, Andrew Guilford (Lily Ratliff), Lydia Guilford, Joshua Guilford, David Guilford; the love of her life: Jackson Munter; her aunts and uncles: John and Betsy Guilford, Marderick and Angela Butts, Peter and Bethany Landrey, Michael and Melinda Noack, Jonathan and Julie Noack, Timothy and Sarah Carpenter; her cousins: Evan Heffelfinger, Katlyn (Pranav) Bethala, Kody Noack (Ally Garstka), Jonathan (Makenna) Landrey and little Evelyn, Jessica Landrey, Margaret Guilford, Jocelyn Noack, Meredith Noack, Erik Butts, Naomi Butts; extended family, many dear friends, co-musicians, colleagues, mentors and teachers, and her beloved students.
