Robert was born on November 8, 1950, to Harley and Lucille (Dehner) Eickmeier in David City, Nebraska. He passed away on September 3, 2018. He was raised on a farm in Ulysses, Nebraska, attended Elementary School in Surprise and graduated from David City Aquinas High School. He attended Southeast Community College in Milford, studying electronics.
Robert worked for the Nebraska Air National Guard and achieved the rank Chief Master Sergeant (CMSG) upon his retirement. He traveled to many of wonderful places in his 39 ½ years of service. He also enjoyed running and completed the Lincoln Marathon and often participated in the Cornhusker State Games torch run. He enjoyed his time spent in his hour of adoration at Blessed Sacrament, which he did for 31 years. He liked spending time with his family and friends, working out in the yard, and helping his brother with harvesting.
He married Barbara (Cosier) Eickmeier on September 4, 1976 and they have one daughter & son-in-law, Rebecca & Curtis Moffat, grandsons, Bodie and Barrett of Torrington, WY and one son & daughter-in-law, Jason & Krissa Eickmeier, grandchildren, Kaitlyn, William, and Claire of Papillion; sisters, Mary (Paul) McCoy of Lincoln and Elizabeth (Vaughn) Hammond of Nebraska City; brothers, Bernard (Deb) of Ulysses, Gregory (Karla) of Bellwood, Randal (Colleen) of Firth, William Eickmeier of Lincoln and Kenneth (Shelli) of Bellwood; brother-in-law, David (Jane) Cosier of Lincoln; sister-in-law, Sue (Warren) Wellensiek of Highland, MI; as well as aunts, uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Lucille Eickmeier; brother, Thomas Eickmeier; mother-in-law and father-in-law, George and Martha Cosier; brother-in-law, Gary Cosier; as well as many other beloved family members and his beagle Rusty.
