Robert Earl Skiles, 88, of Lincoln, was born on 10/21/30 and passed away 3/20/19 at Tabitha’s Journey Hospice House. Bob was born to Harold O. and Hazel (Pound) Skiles. He attended Northeast High School and joined the Naval Reserves at that time. He worked at Gold’s Dept. Store in downtown Lincoln and was called up to the Korean War 1950 to 1952. He was employed by the Navy in Hastings from 1952 to 1955. Robert joined Bryant Air Conditioning and Heating from May 5, 1955 until Jan. 2016. He was in the Archery Club, assisted in the Boy Scouts, and established an Explorer Post #101 at Bryant. He believed in work ethics and instilled that into his family and everyone he met. Survived by his wife Mary (Schaeufele) Skiles, children Christine (Jeff) Kromberg, son Kenneth Skiles, daughters Barbara Skiles, Bonnie (Todd Bothwell) Skiles, Debra (Bob) Barta. He was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. His sister-in-laws Roberta (Fred) Olson and Margaret (Richard) Wollen, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Cheryl Lynn Skiles and his parents Harold and Hazel. The family wants to thank Tabitha Journey’s Hospice House for the wonderful care they gave him while he was there and in his passing. Memorials to East Lincoln Christian Church and Tabitha House.
