Roger Lee Buhrmann, age 78, of Lincoln NE, passed away peacefully on June 19th, 2025. He was born May 18, 1947, to Leo and Loma Buhrmann. He was the oldest of three boys, including Gary and Steve, and they grew up on a farm near Martell NE. Graduating from Central High School, Sprague-Martell in 1965, Roger excelled in varsity football, basketball, and baseball. Roger served four years in the Navy, from 1966 to 1970, where he played basketball and AAA baseball for Squadron 125. After the military, he worked at Goodyear while farming with his dad. Roger retired from the State of Nebraska in 2010 as the manager of the maintenance department at the Lincoln Regional Center.
Roger was a lifelong sports fan and loved playing basketball, football, baseball, bowling, horseshoes, and golf. Throughout his life, you could always find him hunting, fishing, or playing card games like cribbage, pitch, fuchs, and UNO. In his free time, he also loved watching baseball, basketball, Husker football, volleyball, racing, and Lincoln Stars hockey. Being present at his grandkids' sporting events and band concerts always put a smile on his face.
Roger is survived by his wife Pam of 37 years, daughters Micheline Buhrmann (Kevin Oswald), Angela Hammitt (Mike), Cheri Kaiser, and Crystal Buhrmann (Mark Thimijan), 6 grandchildren, Samie Buhrmann, Noah and Adelyn Hammitt, and Christian, Ella, and Jorja Kaiser. He is proceeded in death by his parents Leo Buhrmann and Loma Rader and his brother Steve Buhrmann.
