Ruth Y Haase

Ruth Yvonne (Eaton) Haase, known as “Vonnie” to her nieces and nephews, died peacefully in her sleep on January 19, 2024. She was 86. Ruth was born October 12, 1937, to Ruth (Duguay) and Harry Eaton in Callaway NE. They later moved to North Platte, NE.

She met her husband Donald Haase while attending Mary Lanning School of Nursing in Hastings, NE. They were married on August 23,1959, in North Platte and later moved to Lincoln, NE in 1961. Together they raised two daughters: Kristy (Jeff) Clarke of Omaha, NE, and Koreen (Steve) Lush of Bellevue, NE.

Ruth was a registered nurse for over 30 years, working at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln. For most of her career, she was Head Nurse in Pediatrics. In 2015 they moved to Papillion, NE.

Preceding her death were her parents; siblings and spouses Andrew (Olive) Eaton; Loren (Evelyn) Eaton; Calvin (Barbara) Eaton; Margie (Bryce) Twidwell. In addition to her husband and children, Ruth is survived by grandchildren Michelle (Todd) Pernicek, Katy Clarke, David Clarke, all of Omaha, NE; Gloria Lush, Englewood, NJ; Jason (Alexah) Lush, Papillion, NE; great-grandchildren Lily Ruth Pernicek and James Pernicek, Omaha, NE; Elora Nauman and Breelan Lush, Papillion, NE; many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 11:00AM at Christ Lutheran Church, in Lincoln, NE. A private burial will be scheduled at a later time. Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bryan Health Foundation, Hillcrest Hospice, or American Heart Association-NE Chapter.
