Sandra S Marquart

Sandra (Sandi) S Marquart passed away Tuesday, July 3rd, 2018 at the age of 67 after a courageous 11 year struggle with amyloidosis. She was born on February 7, 1951 in Beatrice, Nebraska to Hugh and Adella (Pyle) Scott.

Sandi graduated from UNL in 1972 with a Bachelors of Science degree in special education and later received a MS degree, also from UNL. Sandi began her teaching career in 1973 in Gallup, NM, then returned to Nebraska to teach at Beatrice State Developmental Center and the Morton School at the Lincoln Regional Center, ending her teaching career in 2011 at Lincoln Northeast. Her life was defined by her caring and generous nature; including her 39 year career as a special education teacher and a dedication to her children and grandchildren. Following retirement she enjoyed traveling, shopping, and lunch dates with friends. Sandi is survived by her husband of 41 years Leslie Marquart; daughter Allison (Matt) Kuta and son Benjamin Marquart; four grandchildren Charlotte Marquart, Logan, Ryker, and Hudson Kuta.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life at 10:30 am Thursday July 12th at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church - 1200 S 40th St Lincoln, NE. The family has requested that memorials be left in lieu of flowers.
