Shannan was born on October 1, 1980, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to William and Katherine Markham. As the youngest child in a blended family of seven bridging the two families together. She developed an independent spirit and a love for motorcycles at an early age that remained with her throughout her life. She was a gifted student and accomplished pomade, Shannan graduated from Lincoln High School at the age of 16 after earning extra credits. Her determination and work ethic were evident throughout her life. At just 18 years old, she achieved the remarkable accomplishment of purchasing her own home without a co-signer. Shannan’s greatest pride and joy was her son, Zort Caleb Brown, whom she shared with Zort Jason Brown. She never met a stranger and had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her warm personality, generous heart, and genuine interest in others left lasting impressions on all who knew her. Professionally, Shannan served as the Vice President of J.O.T.S. Courier Service, the family courier business she helped orchestrate and grow since 2004. In her free time, she was a natural tinkerer who enjoyed learning how things worked and figuring out how to fix them. Whether working on crafts, projects, or spending time in the shop, she was always creating, building, and sharing her talents with those around her.
She is survived by her beloved son, Zort Caleb Brown; her parents, William and Katherine Markham; her siblings, Jodi Markham, Billie Lee Markham, William Markham, Shaun Raney, and Jason Bloebaum; along with numerous extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Leon L. Raney Jr.
