Stanley Ray Hilgenkamp was born in Fremont, Nebraska on December 26, 1944. He attended
Jamestown Elementary and graduated from North Bend Central Highschool. He went on to join
the Navy in 1966. He then attended vocational school in Milford, NE and later, earned his
degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska. He worked for his father,
Vernon Hilgenkamp, as a mechanic at International Harvester until gaining employment at
Goodyear Tire company in Lincoln, Nebraska where he worked as an Engineer until his
retirement.
Stanley loved hunting, shooting skeet and trap at the Lincoln Trap and Skeet Club, was a
member of the National Skeet Shooting Association, and National Rifle Association. He won
many awards for his excellence in shooting and was active in the leadership of the Lincoln Trap
and Skeet Club for many years.
He loved to travel with his partner Marsha, including a 3000 mile trip on his Honda Goldwing
Motorcycle where they visited the Grand Canyon, the Redwoods, and more. Their favorite place
to visit, above all others, was Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park, Colorado, where
they visited at least once a year to watch the wildlife, hike, eat delicious food, and capture
amazing photographs of the flora and fauna. Stanley especially enjoyed watching the bighorn
sheep as well as the elk when they were in rut.
He is survived by his partner, Marsha Lindbloom and Marsha’s daughters Cassie (Todd) Fetty,
Chris (Mark) Wiltshire; Grandchild Justin Wiltshire; great grandchild Addie Mae Wiltshire. and
brothers, Don (Kris) Hilgenkamp, Paul (Chris) Hilgenkamp; stepsister, Laurie (Steve) Holben;
and stepbrother, Andy (Lois) Barber. Preceded in death by his mom, Agnes Hilgenkamp; father,
Vernon Hilgenkamp; brothers, Gerald, John and Alan Hilgenkamp; and stepsister, Polly Streenz
Memorials to benefit The Rocky Mountain Conservancy and The Lincoln Trap and Skeet Club.
Celebration of Life Visitation Friday, February 4, 2022, 5:00-8:00 PM, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. 6800 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE. Interment Saturday, February 5, 2022, 10:30 AM at Fremont Memorial Cemetery, Fremont, NE. All services will be casual. There will be a reception following the inurnment at the Eagles Club in Downtown Fremont, NE.
