It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tiffany Lynn Upton at the age of 49. Tiffany passed away peacefully on January 16, 2024, surrounded by her family at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha.
Tiffany was the loving wife of R.J. Upton and devoted mother of Nathan Upton, all of Greenwood, NE. She is survived by her mother, Vicky (Mike) Clark, Sister Jessica (Shawn) Smith, Brother Dustin (Alicia) Davis, and bonus siblings Paul Clark and Jessica May Brewer. She is also survived by many loving nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends. Tiffany was preceded in death by her father, Terry Davis, and her beloved nephew, Carter Smith.
Tiffany was born in Lincoln, NE, on March 13, 1974. She was a 1992 graduate of Lincoln High School where she excelled on the girls Varsity Basketball team and was the recipient of a basketball scholarship to Hastings College which she did attend. She and her husband, R.J., were owners of a commercial trucking company and she was kept busy with its daily bookkeeping and scheduling tasks. Tiffany was an avid sports fan and truly devoted to the Green Bay Packers. She especially loved being a sports mom when her son, Nathan, recently participated on the football, wrestling, and track teams for the Greenwood-Ashland High School. She tried to never miss a game or event in spite of her declining physical health. She couldn’t climb steps very well anymore and had trouble walking long distances but she attended every event she could. Nathan was her pride and joy and she was not going to miss any chance she had to support him.
Tiffany also loved to travel and was always so happy when she had a trip coming up. She and her family had a big trip planned to Las Vegas in March to celebrate the 50th birthdays of herself and her husband, R.J. She had visited many states and loved her time on cruises and trips to Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Being a lifelong Elvis fan, a timeless memory was made in Las Vegas ten years ago for her 40th birthday when her family hired an Elvis impersonator to surprise her in the courtyard of the Flamingo Hotel and to sing several songs to her with a large crowd gathered round. Tiffany also loved to cook, go fishing, visit casinos, and play bingo. As the complications from diabetes took their toll over the last few years, she bravely fought the disease as best she could and hospital visits challenged her frequently. The loving support of her family helped her through the many difficult times and each day we had her was a gift.
Tiffany had a profound love of family and she was the happiest when she was surrounded by her family. Her loving and kind spirit will always continue to inspire her family and friends and we will carry her beloved memory in our hearts forever.
