Velma R Weyers

Velma Rose Stutheit was born to Erwin and Rosa (Neemann) Stutheit in Burr, Nebraska, January 7th, 1934. She lived in and attended school in Burr. From 8th grade on, she was the only person in her class.

Velma was in volleyball and cheerleading. She graduated as valedictorian in 1951, and married Gilbert Weyers on December 5th, 1952. To this union, 4 children were born. 3 sons and a daughter.

Velma was preceded in death by her parents, and her two brothers, Wayne Stutheit and Dale Stutheit. She is survived by her husband, Gilbert Duane Weyers, and her loving children; Gary (Terry) Weyers, Gene (Cindy) Weyers , Jerry Weyers and Judy (Dennis) Cheney and 12 grandkids, 25 great grandkids and 6 great great grandkids.

Visitation: Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska, 68512, on January 2, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Funeral January 2, 2025 at 10:am.
