Vicki L Koenig

With heavy hearts and profound love, we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother Vicki L. Koenig, 78, who left us too soon on May 27th, 2026. Born January 6th, 1948 in Sutherland, NE she was a true force of nature—warm, sassy, feisty, and unforgettable.

Vicki dedicated her life to her family. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother not only to her own children and grandchildren but to anyone who was in need of a mother’s love and support. Whether she was making everyone’s favorite individual food for family Sunday brunch or having fun playing pitch or rummy with her family, her home was always a place of comfort, laughter, and love. She taught us the value of living our lives to the fullest, hard work, and going after what you wanted. We will forever carry her wisdom, her bright smile, and her generous spirit in our hearts.

She leaves behind a beautiful legacy and is survived by her husband of almost 48 years, Rod Koenig, daughters, Desirae Ring, Nikki Koenig, Amanda Koenig, Heather Koenig, and grandchildren Jaci Hennecke, Justin Hennecke, and Emma Ring.

In addition to her husband, children, and grandchildren she is survived by sisters, Beverly Adkinson, Joyce (Gary) Kuhlmann, Terrlyn (Darrell) Feeney, sister-in-law Tong Hui, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by parents Lloyd and Thelma Gibson, sister Shirley Cochran, brother Terry Gibson.

Funeral services June 2nd, 2026 at 10:00 am at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on June 2, 2026, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68512.
