I remember playing with Bill at their brick home in Lincoln.   My mother (Ruby Baehr) would come to their house to do our washing.
I also remember that your grandmother worked in a bakery near their house.  She would bring home plastic horses and cowboys they used on the cakes.

Bill was such a good man with a friendly heart. On a humorous note, we always knew it was Wednesday when we saw him wash the car and hose the driveway. We were your neighbors for decades, two families each with two sons. Ryan, you and Nate were both five and started kindergarten together two months after we moved into the house across the street from you.Doug, you and Adam were born within a couple years and remained friends as adults, both working for Allstate.We will always have endearing thoughts of the Bill Niemann family. Covid has been a major concern of ours since March. This prevents us from attending the service. We are so sorry and wish things were different. We hope you can respect our decision. I worked with Bill off and on over a total of 25 years at the NE Department of Social Services/Health and Human Services (DHHS). He was always cooperative, helpful, and was willing to relay the history of various procedures and programs for which he had the knowledge and I didn't. After he retired I supervised the unit he managed immediately prior to his retirement from DHHS. He told me to feel free to call him if I had a question about something he could help me with: I did, and he did! 

Last, but not least, we were both supervisors in the Financial Services Division of DHHS and shortly before Bill retired I became a grandfather for the first time. Bill remembered our grandson's first name and frequently inquired how the new baby was doing.  That meant a lot.

Bill was a guy I'm glad I was able to know during our professional lives. My condolences to his family and close friends as they mourn his passing.
