Alberta Geronimo

Alberta “Betty” Geronimo was born on July 27, 1941, in Marapong, Cebu, Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines to Pedro and Rufina Elumbaring. She spent her early years in the Philippines before courageously traveling to the United States in 1967 through a nursing program, beginning her life of service at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

In Elizabeth, Betty met Rolando Geronimo, who was serving in the U.S, Navy. They were introduced by a mutual friend at a gathering. They were married in June of 1969 at Saint Mary’s of Assumption Church in Elizabeth New Jersey.

Betty was a devoted wife, loving mother to her children Liza, Riza, Rolando Jr. who passed in 2005, Gerry and Robert who passed away at birth. She was also a proud grandmother to Cassiel, Antonia, Naylanni and Nylah.

As a nurse, Betty dedicated her life to caring for others. Her compassion extended far beyond her profession – she was known for her generosity, her selflessness, and her willingness to help anyone in need. She had a remarkable strength and a quiet resilience that carried her through life and inspired those around her.

Betty will be remembered for her joyful spirit and her wacky sense of humor, always bringing laughter into any room. She cherished time with family and friends, especially when gathered around a table filled with good food. No one would ever leave her presence hungry.

It is also important to note she was a breast cancer survivor for forty years.

A beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Betty leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion. Her presence was a blessing, her life a gift, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at KROWICKI MCCRACKEN FUNERAL HOME, 2124 East Saint Georges Ave, Linden, NJ 07036, US, on April 16, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Prayer Service will take place at KROWICKI MCCRACKEN FUNERAL HOME, 2124 East Saint Georges Ave, Linden, NJ 07036, US, on April 16, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

A private cremation will follow all services.
