Different Cadet, also known as Prosper by family and friends, fell into a final sleep in death at the age of 81, on January 21st, 2026. He lived and shared many years of his life with his family in Roselle, New Jersey.
Different was born on May 12, 1944, in the town Duclas, 5th Section Saint Marc, Haiti,
to his late mother Justina Souffrance and late father Oscar Cadet. He was preceded by his late wife Ismelie Cadet and daughters Nancy S. Cadet and Judith Cadet.
He left Haiti to come to the United States in September 1979 to provide for his family as a factory line worker. His wife joined him in 1982, along with their children in the following years, where they built a prosperous life. He came to this country to provide for them. Throughout the years he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He had deep love and devotion for God. He was also an avid reader of the bible. He had great passion for preaching about God’s Kingdom. He was firm in his path with God and preached to everyone he met.
Different cared and found great joy in helping others. He was a very giving soul who shared what he had with others. He would always ask, “have you eaten?” then share his food with you. He loved cultivating the natural crops from the earth. He cared about the education of children in Haiti. In his healthier days, he campaigned and collected donations to assist in the building of a school in Haiti to further the education of less fortunate children in the nation. He loved to travel to Haiti and never wavered in his love and dedication to his home country.
Different is survived by his five sons. Martelly Cadet, his wife Michaelle Cadet, Israel Cadet, Belga Cadet, Prosper Cadet, Juniordi Cadet, his brothers Paul Cadet, Demase Cadet, Gabriel
