Jose Inguanzo, aged 93, of Cranford, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on May 28, 2025. Born on July 25, 1931, in Cuba, his life was interrupted by the still existing political oppression which led him to immigrate with his wife and young daughters to his loved USA in 1969.
The epitome of hard work, honesty and integrity, he dedicated his life to creating a loving and supportive home for Delia, his wife of 69 years, and their family.
Jose started his professional working life as a phlebotomist/medical laboratory technician; in the 1950’s joining Cuba’s Lederle Pharmaceuticals branch as a Sales representative. As a new USA immigrant, he was very fortunate and proud of his many years working at Texaco Inc. in Newark, NJ, from where he eventually retired.
Jose was preceded in death by his beloved parents, four siblings and innumerable family members. He was a happy, proud man at his dear niece Rosie’s 2023 Inguanzo family reunion, spending time with his sister and so many nieces, nephews and family descendants from all over the country.
Jose was a man of humble beginnings but strong values and quiet strength. His steady presence was well-liked and respected by everyone. He traveled the USA, Europe and Latin America. His thirst for knowledge and self-teaching never ceased, easily noted in his conversations, full of anecdotes, history and current events. He was an avid reader of newspapers and books, mastering his iPhone and social media in his 80’s. Watching classic western movies and shows was a favorite past time.
Jose’s memory will live on with his beloved wife Delia, two daughters, Delia and Maria, and son-in-law Fausto that will forever miss his wisdom, unwavering guidance, love and insurmountable support and dedication. He had immense pride for his two grandsons, Christopher and William, their beautiful wives Eryn and Alex, and the joys of his later years, his great-grandchildren Mia and Christopher Jr.
He is also survived by his beloved younger sister, Blanca, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends from all over the world, too numerous to mention, who are grieving and will remember and cherish his memory.
Jose’s life was a testament to enduring love, dedication to family and perseverance; though his physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire this legacy in all that we do.
His family invites all who knew him to a visitation that will occur Monday, June 2, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, KROWICKI MCCRACKEN FUNERAL HOME, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036 with the prayer service being held at 11:00 AM. A funeral will follow at Saint Gertrude Cemetery & Mausoleum, 53 Inman Ave, Woodbridge Township, NJ 07067.
In lieu of flowers, in Jose’s memory, contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
