

Manuel Idalio Torres aka Manny Torres was born on December 3, 1960, to Alfredo Torres and Maria Alice Torres in Labrengos, Portugal. He migrated to America with his father, mother, and brother, George Torres when he was 9 years old. At the age of 62, Manny Torres passed away at Hackensack Meridian Health of Old Bridge on June 30, 2023, at 5:35pm after his battle with ALS came to an end. He is survived by his mother, Maria Alice Torres, brother, George Torres, wife, Alda Torres, daughters Sandra and Melissa Torres. He is deceased by his father, Alfredo Torres.
Manny lived most of his life in Elizabeth, NJ where he married the love of his life, Alda and raised his two daughters, Sandra and Melissa. He worked as a truck driver for C & K Scrap Metal in Newark, NJ for 20 years. He was best known for his humor, being the life of the party with his favorite saying “Absolutely”. He was a music lover and loved to listen to Rock n Roll and Elvis Presley. He was a family man that brought joy and laughter to those around him. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. Some of his favorite moments were taking vacations and having family get togethers.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023, for the viewing between 5pm and 9pm at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home on 2124 St. George’s Avenue, Linden NJ. Our Lady of Fatima Church on 403 Spring St. Elizabeth, NJ will be offering the funeral mass on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 9:30am. The Cremation will be private and the inurnment ceremony will be at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery and Mausoleum on 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ. at a later date to be announced.
