Onilda T. Rodriguez

On Saturday, October 28, 2023, Onilda Rodriguez, was reunited with her one true love in heaven at the age of 77. Onilda was born on December 21, 1945, in Güines, Cuba to Luis Marrero Barrios and Emelina Hernandez Fraga. She was married to the love of her life, Marcelino. In 1965 they married and together they achieved their dream of moving to America where they lovingly raised their three children Luis, Marilin, and David in Elizabeth, NJ. Onilda was a dedicated employee at Trinitas hospital for over 30 years.

Onilda’s greatest love was her family. She was a hard working woman who instilled good values in her children and grandchildren who lovingly called her “Mama”. Her heart and home were always open and no one could leave without a home cooked meal and sharing a bowl of ice cream with her. Onilda’s domino game was fierce and her opponents often heard her shout “Ganamos!”. She looked forward to the warmer months when she visited the beach to watch the waves with her husband and take her grandchildren to play in the sand. She created a lifetime of memories barbecuing, playing frisbee and baseball at the park with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Onilda was predeceased by her parents, her sister Olga, and her husband Marcelino. She is survived by her sister Luisa; her son Luis, his wife Mirian, and their daughter Krystin Briana Rodriguez - Manansala; her daughter Marilin and her daughters Yanelis, Maylin, and Kaylee; and her son David, his wife Mimi, and their children Rose, Ryan, Nina, David Jr., and Noah.

A visitation for Onilda will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. A prayer service will take place from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. A funeral will follow at Rosedale Cemetery, E Linden Ave, Linden, NJ 07036.
