

He was born July 11th, 1950 in Yonkers, NY and moved with his family to Mahopac, NY in 1968. Richard served in the US Marine Corp. (LCpl) from October 1969 to October 1971. He worked for Billy Haughton Stables from 1975 to 1982, as a groom and trainer of harness racing horses. After leaving Haughton stables, he owned and operated a wood floorrefinishing business in New Jersey. Most recently Richard worked for Home Depot, up until his passing.
Over the years, Richard enjoyed spending time with his children Skylar, Randy, and Jillian. Some of his favorite memories were coaching and watching the boy’s baseball games and attending Jillian’s dance recitals. He loved hanging out with his German Shepherd (Jaxx),traveling, going to the beach, and attending concerts, especially the Rolling Stones.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Parish of Dunnellon, FL; sons, Skylar and Randy Parish of Rahway, NJ; daughter, Jillian Parish of Spring Hill, FL; former wife, Gail Parish of Spring Hill, FL; brothers, Robert Parish (Lorraine) of Canton, GA; David Parish (Maureen) of Mahopac, NY; sister, Debra Pezzullo(Vincent) of Mahopac, NY; and 14 nieces and nephews, all whom loved and will miss Richard dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Parish and nephew, Stephen Parish.
Final services will be held on Saturday March 6th, 2021 from 3pm to 7pm at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, Linden, NJ
Since Richard had a soft spot in his heart for young children and animals, the family request in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SHRINERS HOSPITALS FOR CHILDREN or THE HUMANE SOCIETY.
