Rosario Tropeano, age 90, of Lavallette, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023. Rosario Tropeano was the oldest of five children born in Varapodio Calabria, Italy in 1932. Rosario was a professional clarinet player in his younger days. He along with his father, brother, and uncle were in a traveling band which toured all over Italy. As he grew older, Rosario learned the furniture making trade from his father and later, went to Rome to learn this trade more completely. Rosario and his brothers immigrated to the United States in the early 1960s. He worked hard to establish himself and make a good life. Rosario went back to Italy, met and married Concetta, and then returned with her to America. He opened his business, Rok-Lin Kitchens in Elizabeth, NJ, working until he retired at age 62. Rosario lives on by way of all the custom furniture he has made and installed in countless homes over the years.
Rosario was a proud husband, parent and grandparent. He was passionate about music, motorcycling, soccer, CB and short wave radio communications and loved his Cadillac. He lives on in our hearts and memories.
Rosario is survived by his loving wife, Concetta, children Mariane and John and wife Matty, grandchildren Christian and Marissa, brothers Joe, Nick and Vince and sister Elizabeth.
