

With deep sadness, I announce the passing of our beloved Nana on 10-20-2022, peacefully at her home. Nana was born on October 15,1927, in Bayamo, Cuba to Santos Chavez Jimenez and Fidela Barzaga Reyes. At 16 she married Elpidio Ramos they had three children Ramon Eduardo, Ana and Maria. Tragically her husband passed away in 1948, in a traffic accident. Later on in life, she met Wilfredo Selva "Niño". Who was a great father and grandfather. In 1970, they emigrated from Cuba. A few years later, she petitioned her children and her family. She worked many very hard in the United States as a machine operator to always provide for her family. Nana loved scratch offs and casinos. Nana was mainly known for her cooking she made delicious dishes which we all enjoyed.
She loved to talk, tell stories of her past, and wear make up and have her nails done. She loved company and had the best care and love from Iris her aid, that was her other daughter. Thank you Iris for all the love and care.Nana was one of 12 children. Beside her children she is survived by her 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Her brother Pedro Chavez and Ofelia Cedeño in Cuba. She is preceaded by her husband Wilfredo Selva, 2010. And daughter in law Mavelina Ramos in 1986. Rest in peace nana. You will be missed and forever loved by all of us.
As per Nana’s wishes, there will be no viewing. A private cremation will take place.
