

LEWISTON: Chris C. Wheeler Sr., 48, of Lisbon passed away Tuesday evening at CMMC from injuries sustained in an automobile accident with his loving family at his side. Chris was born in Boothbay Harbor on September 22, 1966 a son of Robert and Patricia (Chase) Wheeler, Jr. He grew up in the Boothbay area and attended local schools there. He was a graduate of the Boothbay Region High School. After high school, Chris proudly served his country in the Air Force for nearly 4 years. After his service in the military he started working at Bath Iron Works as an electrician. While there, he earned his Associates Degree at Maine Maritime Academy in a work provided education program. On August 20, 1994 he married the former Michelle Taylor at the chapel at Bowdoin College. Chris was always known for his contagious smile and vibrant personality, his love for the Boston Bruins, his fascination with helicopters, kayaking, fishing, hiking and attending high school basketball games. He will also be remembered for his love of spending quality time with his family and Hayley will forever be “Daddy’s Girl”. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Michelle Wheeler and their daughter Hayley of Lisbon, a son Chris C. Wheeler, Jr. and his wife Jacqueline of Henderson, NV, his siblings, Robert Wheeler, III, Patrice Carter and Roberta Wentworth and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind two grandchildren; Jordan and Juliana Wheeler and two very special grand-nieces, Elise and Tegan Gianikas. He was predeceased by his father Robert Wheeler, Jr. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the nursing staff in the ICU at CMMC for the care and compassion that they showed Chris and his family during this trying time. Visiting Hours will be held on Friday Feb. 20 from 5-8pm at the funeral home. The family has requested that those who attend wear their beloved Bruins gear. A Celebration of Chris’ life will take place on Saturday Feb. 21 at 2pm at the Berean Baptist Church in Brunswick. Interment will take place at a later date.
