Dear Cathey,  I am so sorry to hear of Frank's passing.  To me he was more than the Moxie guy, he was a long time friend and Lisbon Falls "teller of tales" historian.  As a kid, of course, I was served up the root beer and ice creams, candies etc by your father most of the time, but of course, come weekends, and after school, Frank was there to help out.  Later on in life, long before Moxie days, I would stop in and say hello and we would catch up on the local news.  One of the first places I went when I came back from Vietnam was to the Kennebec Fruit Co to engage in my favorite pasttime--drinking root beer from an iced mug and talking with Frank.

Years later as I tried to explain my childhood to my boys, I finally brought them to the store and we all sat there drinking root beers, moxie and ice cream while Frank regaled us all with stories and anecdotes about life in a small town.  Frank always, and I mean "always" made my boys feel at home.  He was always great with my kids, even after they got older.  I left a lot of memories on the front stoop of the Kennebec Fruit Co.  I shall never forget Frank or your family.

I only met Frank once at last years Moxie festival. I am 15 and am absolutely obsessed with Moxie and went to the auction from his store just to meet him. A kind hearted man with a good sense of humor. It makes me VERY sad to hear of his passing :(

I only met Frank a few times but like your first taste of Moxie, you never forget him. His big smile, bigger heart, and approachable, talkative nature made a lasting impression on me and my friends. He took something mundane, a niche New England soda, and turned it into a world wide sensation, bringing notoriety to Lisbon Falls. God bless you Frank. I'll say a Rosary and drink a Moxie for you. You'll be missed more than you know.

I saw Frank only 2 weeks ago on one of his pop in visits to my shop, Drapeau's Costumes.  He used to stop in every couple weeks to talk, tell me what's going on around town and tell me about his latest book.  I often offered to take in his pants when he was losing weight but he always refused.  I will miss Frank, he was a lovely , interesting man and I will miss his "moxie"! Frank, aka. the Moxie Man, was larger than life. Stopping at the store at least once a week was always interesting. He would ask what the latest gossip was, but know more of the going-on's in town than I did. 
I will miss our visits and our talks. 
Frank, I salute you with a cold Moxie. I will miss you my friend.

We were so very sad to hear of Frank's passing.  In our annual visits back to Maine, we always made it a point to stop in to see and talk to Frank.  It was such a joy listening to his stories, and who can forget his 'famous' Moxie speech.  Lisbon Falls will not be the same without you Frank.  Rest in peace, Mr. Moxie.

Moxie, of course, was what brought me to Kennebec's from Lowell, MA way back in 1995 but Frank is reason I kept coming back. I liked Moxie because of its uniqueness and was delighted to find an equally unique individual holding court over the Moxie mystique when I heard about a whole world dedicated to the peculiar drink. You could tell that Frank met so many fans daily, yet upon first meeting him, he treated me as if I was his first ever customer. He encouraged me and my friends to march in the Moxie parade the following years and even during the insanity of the Moxie weekend, you would always get treated like you were the only one in town when you talked with him. An incredibly friendly gift. I would try to visit once a year over the last 20 year, but not as much  for the Moxie paraphernalia as for the great visits with Frank. You can still find Moxie all over New England, but you can't find Frank anywhere else. A great and sweet man and legend. I'm glad I got to know him over the years. It is a sad loss for the world. He was an inspiration on what kind of person to be as I get older. And he certainly had Moxie!!

Cathey we  are  sorry  to hear  about Frank's passing. Every  time we went to his  store he would always tell us some  history of Moxie and the town. He  will  be greatly  missed. Bruce and Carolyn Smith.

I have very fond memories of Frankie and the Store. Always loved talking to my cousin and listening to his stories. Frankie had a love for life and will be greatly miss not only by the family but also the town. He was an Icon.

I am sorry to hear of Frank's passing. I spent many wonderful moments being entertained with great conversations at the Kennebec Fruit Company store. The Anicetti family is a great family. My condolences to them for their loss. Frank and his father were truly a refreshing "tonic" to the art of conversation . . .

Frank was a joy to listen to, as he had so many intelligent and wise things to share.  He was an amazing business man, signing my son's hoodie that was sent to Afghanistan, always providing a personal touch to each customer.  He was a large positive presence in this town, and everyone should say a prayer to thank our Creator for sharing Frank with us.  G-d Speed.

Lisbon Falls has lost one of its premier residents.  My sincere sympathy to the family on the passing of Frank. I remember Frank as a young boy and saw how he evolved into a very interesting man.  His quick wit and personality captivated many people.  Always taking the time to converse with people.  Frank, you will be missed..

     The Moxie world has lost one of its biggest icons. Frank was the Moxie Man! A lot of people don't realize that it was Frank Anicetti who inspired Frank Potter to write his first book about Moxie titled The Moxie Mystique. It was Anicetti's get together for Potter's book signing in Kennebec's (The House of Moxie) in 1982 that helped to start the Moxie Festival! Lisbon Falls, Maine was the center of the Moxie universe because of Anicetti and his store. Thousands of Moxie fans have wonderful memories of the Moxie Festival because of Frank and his Moxie Ice Cream, Moxie T-shirts, hats etc. that he sold in his store. Every form of media has featured Anicetti The Moxie Man promoting Moxie soda. His television appearances include shows that even appeared in Japan!

     As the historian for the NEMC, I always knew that there were many members of our group who knew much more about the history of Moxie than I did and Frank Anicetti was certainly one of them. There is no question in my mind that it is because of Frank Anicetti that we have our wonderful organization called the New England Moxie Congress. Let us never forget Frank!
