John J. McKay Sr.

Durham - John J. McKay, Sr. 83 of Durham passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 at his home. He was born in Howland, Maine May 3, 1929 son of the late William H. and Louise Smart McKay. He was married in Lisbon Falls in 1953 to Alice Fowler who predeceased him. John was proud to be a farmer and also worked at Miller Industries. He loved farming and his family meant more to him that anything. He enjoyed keeping track of his old relationships from the 1930's and 40's in his home town of Howland. He is survived by five children; William McKay of Lisbon Falls, Joyce Eaton and husband Lowell of Elliott, John McKay, Jr. of Lisbon, Joan Clark of Lewiston and Charles McKay of Durham; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and a sister Myra Yenco. Visitation at the funeral home Saturday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Burial will be held at a later date at Hillside Cemetery, Lisbon Falls.
