

Edward Marcellis, born May 25, 1957, passed away on January 19, 2023. He was an inspiration of valor to all he met. He will be remembered as the son of Leroy Marcellis Sr. and Rose Radell. Brother to Rich Sampson, Leroy Marcellis Jr, (wife Terry), Cindy Grace, and Terri Iverson. Preceded in death by his sister, Cathy Bales. He was the loving husband to Jeanette, whom he married on February 18, 1995.
Ed and his wife raised 9 fur babies and helped to raise countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friend’s children. He was always there to support anyone in need and supply endless knowledge. Ed was a proud military veteran who served 2 tours for his country’s freedom in the Army as a sergeant, specializing as a field artillery mechanic and combat engineer in the 2nd Armored Division, Hell on Wheels.
He happily retired as a business owner and heavy equipment operator lifetime career in March 2019 and enjoyed receiving his hard earned Social Security and pension so he could finally relax and enjoy each moment of every day. He will always be remembered.
A memorial service for Ed will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 2- 5 P.M. with a funeral service at 4 P.M. at Blake Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Ave., Lisle, IL 60532. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s name would be appreciated to the Animal Rescue Corps or the Wounded Warrior Project.
