Leo’s passion for football was matched only by his incredible talent with his hands. Leo could build and fix anything, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary with his skill and creativity. Though we were separated by hundreds of miles, Leo guided Mariana and me to complete a project of refinishing our kitchen table. It had been with us twenty-five years. The table is special for being the platform of many enjoyable meals and even better conversations with family and friends. We described to Leo our first attempt to finish the table. The result, an orange colored, bumpy finish. He just laughed. He told us to strip the table, and sand it again. A fresh start. Then he stepped us through the materials to purchase and the multiple steps of sanding, staining, and sealing. Following his instructions, we were delighted with the result. Once again, our kitchen table stands ready to receive family and friends.  Thank you, Leo.

Dear family and friends,
We gather to honor the life and legacy of Leo Gonzalez, a cherished brother-in-law, and an incredible human being. Our hearts are heavy, but our memories of Leo bring light even in this time of sorrow.
Leo had an infectious love for football, and if there was one thing that could make him smile, it was watching his beloved Chicago Bears. Sundays were his sacred time, filled with the excitement and camaraderie that only football could provide.

Beyond his talents and hobbies, Leo was a man of immense kindness and generosity. He had a unique gift for making everyone around him feel valued and loved, always ready with a helping hand and a warm smile. He was a cornerstone of our family, and his spirit will forever echo in our hearts and homes.
Rest in peace, dear Leo. You are deeply missed and will always be remembered with love.

Tina and family---I just loved your dad's sense of humor. He always made me laugh, especially when he called one of his kids a punk. I will forever associate the word punk with your dad! I saw firsthand what a great dad, husband, and grandpa he was, from fixing all kinds of things at Tina's house to all the family breakfasts, he was truly a lovely person. He always had a smile and a sarcastic word (or two) for me and you know how much I appreciate that! He will be missed, but most importantly, he will be remembered as the sweet person he was. Sending you all much love and comfort!

Whether you  hated everything or loved everything you were always our favorite Dad & Grandpa! Thank you for all the fun times! Thank you for always being ready for an adventure!
