

Ellen “Kitty” Wilken Weisz passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Sunrise Senior of Naperville. She just celebrated her 90th birthday on February 4, 2024 with a wonderful party.
Ellen will be laid to rest at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Battle Creek, Iowa nearby to her mother (Alvina), father (Henry), and brother (Robert).
Ellen May Wilken was born on February 4, 1934 in Battle Creek, Iowa. While growing up on the family farm, she attended Battle Township #8 country school and Battle Creek Ida Grove High School in Battle Creek, Iowa. Ellen enlisted in the United States Air Force after high school graduation in 1952.
She was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Battle Creek. She had a strong faith and was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hinsdale, Illinois. Ellen was blessed with three children. Lee, Melanie, and Wynter. She was blessed with eight grandchildren: Jason, Mark, Jacob, Trenton, Kayla, Wilken, Logan, and Ethan. Ellen also had six great-grandchildren. Ellen’s dedication to her family was evident in everything she did; she cherished her family more than anything.
Ellen enjoyed various hobbies and interests that brought joy to her life. She loved traveling, playing cards and collecting perfin stamps.

Visitation at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Ave, Lisle, IL 60532 from 4-8pm
