Florence A. Severson

Florence Adeline Severson, 91, of Naperville IL passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, June 26, 2012 at the Alden Estates of Naperville Nursing Center. Florence was born on October 8, 1920 to Edward and Olga Benson on a farm 15 miles South of Bagley, MN. Florence was the second youngest of five siblings.

She was united in marriage to Edwin Severson on September 29, 1940. Florence and Ed built a home in Fertile, MN where they raised their family: Don, Milo, Russ and Randi. They moved to Warrenville, IL June 1967 where they lived until December 1977 when they moved to Vinton, IA. During that time they enjoyed their retirement years together, spending the cold Northern winters in Mesa, AZ as snowbirds where they found many new retired friends. In August 1988, Florence moved back to Illinois after the passing of Ed.

Florence was a devoted Mother, proud Grandmother and excited Great Grandmother to her family. Through the years she was active in their churches, participating in Ladies Aide, teaching Sunday school. She loved to sew, craft, bake treats for her family and grow flower and vegetable gardens.

Florence is survived by her 4 children, 3 daughter-in-laws: Barb, Millie and Peggy, 8 grandchildren: Catherine, Craig, Jeff, Tim, Eric, Kevin, Jodi and Nick, and 14 great grandchildren.

Florence is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edwin, sisters Mabel, Hilda, Gladys and Ruby, brother Glenn, and sweet grand daughter Shawn Ann Severson.

Interment is private at Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights, IL.
