Joan Leslie Prince (nee Pottle) was born to Edmond Pottle and Veta (Babendererde) Pottle on September 28, 1958 and died on October 17, 2021. Joan was the beloved wife of Russell D. Prince Sr. and mother to Melanie (Andrew) Kuecker and Russell D. Prince Jr. (deceased). The light of her life were her three grandchildren Lorelai (11), Olive (9) and Jensen (6). Joan was the middle child of five children. Her older brother Edmond Pottle (Cathy), older brother Steven Pottle, younger sister Susan Avicola (Mark Henderson) and youngest brother Jeffrey Pottle (Laura) were a part of her close knit family. Joan was also the beloved daughter-in-law of Rose Prince (Dean) and sister-in-law of Vickie Menard (Ray). She was the loving Auntie to her nephew Daniel Avicola, niece Kristen (David) Gregory, niece and Nephews Sarah, Jacob and Sean Pottle, niece Julie (Troy) Rosa and nephew Raymond Menard. She was the much loved Great Auntie to Zayden, Ryker, Sylas, Scarlett, Jett, Malachi, Joseph, Victoria, Katerina and Christian.
Joan grew up on Rose Avenue in Addison surrounded by life long friends and memories she would speak of daily. Joan spent 30 years at the McKesson Corporation and worked her way up from a warehouse position to end her career in Regulatory Affairs. Joan loved classic rock music, gardening, and sitting in her backyard with family and friends. She was always singing along to every song and laughing at every story and joke her Daddy had to share. Most of all, Joan enjoyed spending any spare moment with her daughter and best friend and her three grandchildren. Whether it was going to the movies, a concert, visiting the zoo, enjoying their annual trips to Michigan to visit the beaches, or just having Sunday dinner that's where Joan wanted to be. A light is missing from Joan's family, immediate and extended. Her brothers will miss her constant jokes and teasing, and her sister will miss the soulmate she was lucky enough to experience with their close relationship. Her husband will miss the wife he loving called Jo. Her daddy will miss their daily conversations of life and love.
Her son Russell was always close to her heart and was never far from her thoughts, and Joan would have wanted to continue advocating for him and the struggles he faced.
