Bridget, my dear big sister, I am extending sincere, heartfelt condolences to you and your entire family. Although I never got to meet your son, I can tell that he was a joy to be around. I can also see and feel through the pictures that you all were very proud of him and he was surrounded by lots of love. Allow the memories and good times to comfort you. May he rest peacefully. You all will be continually in my thoughts and prayers.

I have tried to write a message over and over again for the past week and I have been at a loss of words on what to say about Josh. I am so sorry for your loss. No body is going to feel the pain of Josh's passing like his family. I send you love, peace, and support. 
I was one of Josh's classmates at dental school, and I will never forget how welcomed I felt when I started because of Josh and his kindness and respect to me and everyone around him. Josh helped me figure out so many things in the first few weeks of dental school, and he was always smiling and laughing and cracking clever jokes with his calm voice. He was dignified and smart and so positive and happy. He was so happy to be in dental school. I remember sitting near him at the white coat ceremony, and he was beyond excited to receive his white coat and finally begin the official journey to becoming Dr. Williams. No words will express the feeling my classmates and I feel when we study for exams and do projects. We quite literally feel like Josh is with us and we know that if he was here, he would give every single task his 101%. 
How special it is to see a young man accomplish so much in such a short amount of time. He was too good. 
Rest in Power Dr. Williams. Your family, friends, and classmates love you.

Although we didn't speak much after high school, he was in many of my classes and was always so kind and approached others as so. It was lovely to see his growth after graduating, traveling the world and experiencing new things, becoming the person he still is today. I am still in disbelief that you are no longer walking this earth. I love you so much and have enjoyed every second of being your sister. I remember when you came home from the hospital. I have known you all of your life and we have grown closer with time. 

I am going to miss your laugh, wittiness, hugs, jokes, smile,  our debates and competitive spirit. A piece of my heart is missing Joshie. I will never forget the impromptu sushi outings, dinners in the city and holidays. My birthday will never be the same because I cannot celebrate with you. 

I promise to tell little Ryan about you. He will see all of your pictures and watch as many videos of you as I can find. I know that it was important for Ryan to know that you were his uncle. He will know your spirit Josh.

It was an honor being Joshua’s godmother. Heaven has gained an Angel. Joshua will definitely be missed. He will  forever have a place in my heart. Love you always!

I did not know Josh closely, but encountered him many times while attending USF. He always carried himself with the warmest energy and had the most infectious smile! I was shocked and extremely sorry to hear of his passing. He was a bright young man and the world could use more people like him. My deepest condolences and prayers to his family.

I met Josh my freshmen year at USF. We became friends quickly. We participated on orientation board and ran PHA together. I am so grateful to have met such an enthusiastic and passionate friend. I am thankful I was able to watch his dreams become a reality through hardwork and dedication. From talking about moving to Chicago in 2018 to living there in 2021, there’s no coincidence your dreams came true. I will miss you dearly. Hope heaven has the best coffee for you.

I was fortunate to meet Josh while taking photos over the years for USF marketing and promotion assignments. Josh was a member of the Saints Ambassadors and a prefect fit for that role. The first thing you notice about Josh is his welcoming smile and outgoing personality. Someone who always took a minute to stop and say hello. He was a wonderful example of  a genuine, respectful  and hard working young man who carried himself with confidence. You will be dearly missed my friend.

The only thing better than having a job that you love is having a job you love where your son comes to work with you everyday. Josh's dorm room was in the same building where my office was located and I tired my best to stay away so he wouldn't feel like dad was checking on him. But I found that he would come to my office almost daily, sometimes while I was starting a meeting or on an important phone call. 

Josh was an amazing guy and always took the extra step to help people. He reached out to me about a year ago to help new students at USF looking to go to PA school. He looked out for others and had big things ahead of him. I was really looking forward to see all he would accomplish. I'm happy to have known him and have the memories with him that make me smile.

Josh, I never had the pleasure of Meeting you, But your Father and I go way Back to grade school Days, I can tell you from the message I received from your Dad, He could not be more proud of the young man you Became, Go Rest high on that mountain, Son your work on earth here is through, Rest in Heaven my friend… Prayers for you and your family in this Time ,.

No matter who it was or who you are, everyone knew Josh! Josh and I unfortunately didn’t become friends during my time at USF, but he always made sure to say hi to everyone he encountered. He made everyone feel welcomed and I wouldn’t be surprised if he was the reason why a lot of students chose to come to USF after his tours. My deepest condolences to the family. His light shined bright in this world, but it’s shining even brighter now.

There is no greater love (besides that of the Lord) than the love of a Mom and Dad.  We are surely devastated at the loss of Josh.  Josh was an old soul who knew no strangers, even as a young child.  He took being taught to be kind to others seriously and lived his life with joy every second of the day.  Every since the first time I locked eyes with our Joshie as a newborn,  it’s been a joy having the honor of being Josh’s Mom.  We will miss you tremendously, but we know you are in the presence of our Father God.  I know we will see you again, but until then my dear son, rest in paradise!  I love you so much!

Josh was the type of person who knew how to get business done while having the ability to turn any serious situation into a good time. His work ethic was unmatched as he went on after high school to accomplish amazing things some could only dream of doing. When Josh was in somebody’s presence, the confidence and energy he carried was so strong that one could feel his presence from the farthest corner of a room. I am extremely privileged to have known him and the impact he had on my high school years and many years afterwards. I know that he will be watching over his family and closest friends. I never had the opportunity to know Josh, but we shared a profession.  Myself and many other dentists were heartbroken to hear of this loss.  My heart hurts for his family and friends. Josh seems like an amazing young man, so full of life with so many talents.  The picture of him with his dog made me tear up.  A love of pets is something we have in common, and I can tell from the way he holds her just how much he loves that dog. I did not have the honor of knowing Josh. I saw a celebration of his amazing life shared by one of my favorite (dental) people, Haley Schultz. 

I immediately smiled seeing Josh’s wide smile holding his camera. My wife is a photographer and I am so grateful for those that capture the beauty of life for us all to enjoy. As I read the story of Josh, I noted a shared love of one of my favorite things . . . coffee :). 

I have been a dentist for almost twenty years and am proud to call Josh as a colleague. Whether it is one day of dental school or decades fixing teeth, we are all bonded together through our dental journey. 

It is clear from reading about Josh that the (dental) world is lucky to have had Josh in it. One of my missions in life is to ABC . . . Always Be Caring and Josh to inspire me to keep doing that. 

I have had very beautiful and also very brutal experiences happen to me in life. While I can never know exactly what someone is going through, I can share that the unbearable pain of loss lessened for me over time by embracing the gratitude I have for those that made my life so special that are not physically here with me. The process is impossibly difficult and it is a constant “work in progress” for me. 

I am so sorry that this is happening to you, your family and all the people that cared so deeply about Josh. Josh was the first friend I made in kindergarten when I moved to Plainfield - and he was the same happy, smiling, and caring person then as he was in high school. He positively impacted everyone he met. He was one the few people that had a contagious happiness and genuine love of life and helping others. Everyone who had the privilege of meeting him will always remember his kindness and radiant joy. My deepest and sincerest condolences.

I remember when  Josh found out that I was fluent in French. Ever since then, he’d tell me from  now on, speak French with me so he can get better. I remember we used to run into each other in the morning before class or throughout the day and would exchange words in French.  It was always good vibes with him. I’m still in disbelief about this whole situation.
 You will be sincerely missed. My deepest and most heartfelt condolences are with your family.

Josh was the type of person that would come up to you and ask how things are going. He had a way of being able to connect with people; his heartwarming smile was inexplainable. Josh was unique. He would take time out of his day to ask how I have been doing, and how things were going for me, I was always grateful for that. 
I remember telling him that I am on a pre-dental track at usf and he got really happy and immediately said “if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask me!” We zoomed for about an hour and he told me everything I needed to do; mentally, financially, etc. We easily became friends. I was rooting for him as he was rooting for me. Thank you Josh, thank you for believing in me and giving me amazing advice. This is not a goodbye but a see you later, until we meet again Josh. 

We all had the best time in Mexico. Your toast to Ashley & Ryan was so beautiful and perfect. Over the last 15 years I would see you sporadically while visiting Ashley, and every time was so pleasant. You had an amazing smile and infectious laugh. Praying that God comforts and gives strength to your family during this difficult time. You will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved you. That love will live on through your legacy. Hope you’re shining bright in heaven. ❤️

Josh and I connected through Instagram and YouTube as I attend a different dental school. Josh’s bright smile, sense of humor and willingness to help anyone always stood out to me. He truly made everyone’s life better that he interacted with virtually and in-person. 

To know Josh was to love him.  Always happy and the biggest smile on his face.  If you were having a bad day that smile made it better.   When you would see Josh in the halls at USF, he was always surrounded by his peers and leading the group.  Rest In Peace Josh, we sure are going to miss you!

I remember when Josh was born. I was so lucky to have the privilege of helping to take care of him while you were working. Such a sweet little boy! Although we've lost touch over the years, I think of you often and have fond memories of when we were neighbors. I am so sorry to hear of Josh's passing. I truly believe he is now with his father in heaven and one day you will all be reunited. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. 

Josh was an amazing person and friend. He truly loved others well and was incredibly kind to everyone he met. He would bring a smile to my face every time I saw him at USF! He had a contagious smile and always so genuine every time we "caught up". He was truly a special person and I feel blessed to have known him and his brightness. Although we did not talk much, Josh has always been the one to approach everyone and anyone and put a smile on their face. Josh has touched me with how happy, dedicated, passionate he was with all of his projects and interests. He is loved by everyone who had the chance to cross paths with him.

I remember meeting Josh at liberty elementary school. On the first day we meet each other it felt like we’ve known each other years before.
 Growing up with him was a blessing. He was always very charismatic, kind, funny, and hardworking. He always knew what he wanted and did his best to work for it. Although we did not talk every day, when there ever was a chance to for a conversation it was always natural as if time never passed. His laugh and smile was contagious, he always knew how to brighten a room. 
I will never forget how he would tease me for trying to hide my bottom braces when i would smile, how competitive he was in a soccer scrimmage, or the motivational conversations we had about life/future . Josh will always be remembered and treasured🤍

Rest in paradise my God brother. Thank you for being a special part of my life and teaching me so much. You were always following your dreams and had so many blessings lined up. You inspire me to the fullest. Your kind personality was a light to many. Every memory of you is pure and filled with tons of laughter. You deserved the world. I remember a time in specific, we came over for a gathering and you showed me so many talents you had. From playing the drums to showing me the simplest trick. I was always amazed. From that moment, you have gained  new talents and reached so many goals. It was a blessing to have met you.

Josh was one of the first people I met at St. Francis. We were both ambassadors and I clearly remember during training that he set out to become the one to give the most tours for that school year. Ever since then, I knew he would be determined for all that he set out to do. Josh truly was a ray of light at school. His friendship was sweet and easy, and I will dearly miss the encouraging messages we would send each other to cheer each other on. I will always remember him as a joyful and positive person in a world that is flooded with the opposite. He truly touched the lives of everyone he was around, and his legacy will be felt for a lifetime. I attended USF with Josh and we both were in the biology department together. Josh was always someone that just made your day better. He always had a huge smile on his face and was willing to help with anything you needed. I saw how excited he was to become a dentist and the passion he had for it. Josh, thank you for being the happiest person in the room. Since I’ve known you from band and in high-school to USF you always were able to talk to quietest people and get them to talk to you and feel heard. Thanks for always taking the time to share your smile and never failing to offer advice or help someone with whatever you could. I can’t count how many times you were able to be there for a quick message or a question. You’ve touched so many people’s lives and in the best way. I’m so grateful to have known you for so long. Rest easy. 

I worked with Josh for Saints Ambassadors and saw him around a lot when I went to Saint Francis. He was such a genuine person and he always had a smile on his face. He was one of those people that gave you hope that there are good people in the world. I can only imagine the impact he’s made in those around him. Such a beautiful soul lost….prayers for his family and friends.

Every time we spoke there was laughter & positivity. I’m happy I always told him how proud of him I always was; he was an inspiration for black boys and girls everywhere. I will forever appreciate him for listening to my ups and downs as though they were his own & advising me as though I were his own sister. He was a true friend with a beautiful light that shined bright. I’ll miss the way we joked about him being my future dentist for free. I will forever remember him, the tears of laughter we shed, his contagious smile, & the friendship we had.

Josh was an incredibly smart and funny young man. I met him through a mutual friend and started a podcast with a group of amazing young people. He not only gave great, detailed opinions but he truly cared about everyone in the group and was always there to listen. He will be missed greatly! Condolences to the family in this time 

I knew Josh at USF Joliet. I only spent a year there, but his personality and kindness were absolutely unforgettable. I just recently lost my brother at 19, so my sincerest condolences go to all family and friends. When I came to Chicago for a work trip and stayed the weekend to spend time with family. We went to brunch and spent the day at the African festival, shopping and eating. We bonded over being coffee lovers and looking at all the art and handmade goods. You always enjoyed the simple things in life, always valued the little things everyone else rushed past. You were such a gem and gentle soul that everyone loved. The youngest of our bunch, I Love you soo much kiddo, we’ll never be able to put into words how much we miss you and your spirit. Can’t wait to see you again! 💛

As long as I have known Josh, he has always been my #1 supporter. No matter how bad my day was, he would make it better with his optimism and humor. He would always celebrate the little wins with me in life. We would talk almost daily about his passions of being a Youtuber, future dentist, plant dad, and a new uncle. I will never forget the memories of us practicing our French together and him helping me as I struggled most of the time. Helping others came naturally to him which was shown through his leadership and compassion. He will be truly missed and my heart goes out to anyone affected by his passing. 

Josh was an incredible person. From being there through all the stress of college to being more supportive than anyone when we finally graduated. I’m truly blessed to have been apart of his life. I will forever miss him but his memory will live in my heart forever. Rest easy Josh ❤️ 

Josh became one of my very first friends when I transferred to East sophomore year of high school. He's always had a smile on his face, loved talking about soccer and laughed about the dumbest jokes we would share in class. Josh and I also worked together at one point and I had the pleasure to meet his grandpa and parents over the years. The Williams family have always been wonderful to me and also others. Rest easy my ffriend, thanks for making 2nd period Geometry class fun ♥️

Josh gave me my first tour at USF and made me fall in love with the school. He was such a bright, positive and caring person. He will be truly missed❤️

Joshua was a pervasive ray of light to many who met him-he certainly was to our family. If you knew Josh intimately well, like my cousins, parents, and I were so blessed to have done, his warmth, charm, and desire to output positivity and altruism into the world almost radiated off of him. If you didn't-you probably would have at some point. He held his aspirations aloft not out of pride or boastfulness, but because at his core, he had a servant's heart, and everyone knew he deserved to be destined for great things. I loved few things more than receiving a YouTube ping update on his dental school vlog channel-knowing and believing he would eventually one day walk out of the hallowed halls of UIC a dentist that could hang with the best of them-he was made for that...right? All of us were robbed of that beautiful moment, an even more beautiful soul, and I believe we deserve so much better-but he does the most of all. I love you, bro. Rest easy now, and we'll see you again soon. I hope you've found any joy you may not already have gotten from this cold world. 

Josh, Auntie G loves you endlessly. ❤️ I'll always cherish our fun times during your summer stays, how much fun you had in the pool, you constant effort to make everyone happy and your promise to clean my teeth! I am a better person because I was blessed by your presence.

Josh, you were one of the first people I met at USF! I will always remember our tours and events we did as ambassadors together, and you always helped me when I didn't know a lot of biology and made things so much easier to learn.

Josh was one of my first friends at USF. Being from out of state, he helped show me the school and introduced me to so many more friends.  He was in foundations with me and we had so many good memories together, like taking pictures in the huge snow of 2018 and going to downtown Chicago together with others and ice skating in Daley park. He was always a person I knew that would have a smile on his face and truly cared about you. I send my heartfelt sympathy to all friends and family. Josh was a bright light in every life he touched. 

Josh was a fellow drummer, student, friend, and brother.
My favorite memory with Josh is marching next to him in formation before every band competition. We always held hands as we marched down the line, as it was a drumline tradition. And from that I know, Josh will always be by our sides for the rest of our lives. Thank you Josh, for everything.❤️

I taught Josh at USF for Microbiology and then later for Human Physiology.  I will always remember his bright smile and ease for goofy banter because these made the long labs easier both for me and for his lab partners. My heartfelt condolences to his friends and family. 

Josh was a part of the international mentorship program with me. He was always so kind and full of energy like the sun. It was such a small group of us that wanted to help the new international students. It just goes to show that Josh would go to great lengths to help out others and make everyone feel welcome at USF. 

We met in high school and through band and quickly became friends. Even after graduation, our friend group always stayed in touch and tried to hang out whenever we weren’t busy with school and work. You became like a brother to me and that will never change. I was so proud of you finally living your dream of being in dental school and I couldn’t wait to call you Dr. Williams. I was waiting for the day for us to take pictures together in our white coats! I love and miss you so much already Josh. I know you will continue making us proud in heaven as we will continue making you proud down here. Love you buddy! 

Too many memories but my favorite one was being a percussionist with Josh. It was mandatory to spend so much time together but I wouldn’t trade it for the world because now he’s forever family

Josh had been my friend for a long time and had seen me at my highs and helped me at my lows. He was my neighbor who I could cut yards to see. He always knew how to make me laugh and cheer me up. I will be forever grateful for him and his big white smile.

Joshua was like a brother to me and shared love and optimism everywhere he went. I will miss his bright smile and warm presence
